Anchor Comes on Board Country Fair

| Posted: 25 January 2012

From Jen Peddlesden, Red Ribbon Coordinator

It was with much excitement that the Chestermere Country Fair Red Ribbon Committee heard the news that the Anchor Weekly ( Steve Jeffrey) will be producing the 2012 Country Fair Booklet! Seen at the first organizational meeting held on January 9th, are Marla Forth, Carol Smailes, Rosemary Clysdale, Jen Peddlesden, Pat Tindall, and Maggie Piechotta holding copies of the Anchor Weekly, their new partner.
New also for 2012, the Chestermere Country Fair will be held one week earlier on September 7th /8th to take advantage of the short season and the chance for more horticultural exhibits. Back by popular demand is ‘Preserving Our Skills’, tentatively for Saturday morning June 2nd featuring how to preserve our favourite prairie fruit, rhubarb. The Pie Auction and pie baking are back too, tentatively set for September 5th, with discussion of fierce competition at the Sept 8th auction already in the rumour mill.
For more information about the Red Ribbon and the Country Fair, or to volunteer for either for 2012 call Jen 403 272 3764, Pat 273-5108, or Vicki 272-7170–and watch for more Fair and Red Ribbon Competition information in your weekly Anchor as the months fly by!
