Jen Peddlesden, Chestermere Country Fair Red Ribbon Coordinator
It’s back! The Charity Pie Auction ( 2nd annual) sponsored by the Chestermere Ag Society and the Chestermere Country Fair Red Ribbon. Get your rolling pins and your aprons ready, the pie auction pie making will take place on Wednesday September 5th 6:30-8pm at the Chestermere Regional Recreation centre Multi Purpose Room. Bring your pie ingredients for one 9″ two crust pie, ( no milk, eggs, or nuts please, due to health regulations) and the Ag Society will provide the flour and lard for your pastry, a pan and a box to decorate. Go wild decorating your box, it will be one way to feature your creation and encourage buyers who will come to the Curling rink at 2:00pm on Saturday September 8th to buy your pie!. If you are wondering why you can’t just make your pie at home, Alberta Health Regulations require that the auction pies be made in a facility that has a food establishment permit issued by the regional health authority ( i.e. the CRCA building)
This year the proceeds from the auction ( thanks to Graham Auctions for providing an auctioneer) will go to STARS Air Ambulance. Last year the Ag Society was able to give a cheque for over $900 to the Chestermere Regional Food Bank from the auction proceeds.
If you have any questions about making the pies call Pat 273-5108 or if you would like to register e-mail Carol firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at 272-7170 x 223 after Tuesday Aug 7th.
