Getting the fairytale experience by taking a magical Cinderella Pumpkin Coach ride.

As shoppers were out getting the last minute items for their Thanksgiving feasts and families packed into vehicles travelling to meet with loved ones, hundreds of people took part in the 11th Annual Pumpkin Fest at Blue Grass Garden Centre. Cars lined up as far as the eye could see to join in the festivities all in support of a great cause.
Blue Grass Garden Centre organizes this event to raise funds for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, which took place on Saturday October 11th. Donations were collected as vehicles entered the lot, with a recommended $5/person donation. Once inside the gate there were many great activities for all ages to participate in. Pumpkin carving, face painting, hay rides, petting zoo and a giant straw maze, just to name a few. Children enjoyed pumpkin bowling and even a ride in the Cinderella Pumpkin Coach.
Food trucks lined the parking lot selling lots of yummy treats to keep the kids, and grown-ups, fueled to enjoy all the fun. New to the festival this year was the R.C. Gear club who will be demonstrating their remote control cars and also a live wood carver showing off his amazing skills and talent.
Blue Grass is very proud to have raised over $150,000 for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation over the past 10 years and the goal for this year is $35,000. This is a fun event that always brings out lots of people and supports a great cause at the same time.
With the grade finale being the drop of a 1200lb pumpkin from 100 feet in the air…..the event proved to be a crowd pleaser once again!
