The YELL Group, part of Synergy, a non-profit organization, set up a $10/car Car Wash in the parking lot of the Chestermere Town Hall on Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm complete with camping chairs set up in the shade and a refreshment stand that had yummy tidbits and cool lemonade.
Members of YELL took turns standing at the 4-way stop intersection behind Safeway with a sign that they artistically and energetically spun through the air to attract traffic and since opening at 11 they had a steady stream of traffic and cars of all shapes and sizes to clean.
"Steven, Paige, and Shiya are awesome!" was an enthusiastic quote from some of the team leaders.
All profits from this car wash are going toward getting a Kids Help Phone – an anonymous line for people who are being bullied to call and get help. They are hoping to have another car wash next year so if you missed getting your car cleaned this time around make sure you keep an eye out next summer – it’s always for a good cause.
