Chestermere Celebrates Diwali

Classical Indian Dance performance (Bharatanathyam Style) by Laasya Dance School mesmerized the audience, young & old alike.

The Chestermere NRI (Non-Resident Indians) is a Facebook group and do two events each year to celebrate our heritage and allow our children and mainstream Canadians celebrate Indian culture and traditions.
The group was formed, with thanks to the Town of Chestermere, 4 years ago in initiating the first festival of lights event at the Yacht Club in 2012. The Chestermere NRI group have continued the Diwali tradition and also celebrate a Spring Festival of Colours called “Holi” each year.
