When last I wrote to you (Sept.29/16 City News) about the Chestermere Chiefs Community Football Club I gave you an update on our Pee Wee team and their growth; I let you know how busy our club was with our Pub Night fundraiser and our Blitz Night for Chiefs discount cards.
Well here we are a short two weeks later and I am ecstatic to report both our fundraising events were a great success.
We would like to thank Deeter at West Creek Pub for his continued support of our football club and letting us host our annual Pub Night fundraiser there. That night we had a silent auction and it was possible because of these incredible local businesses: Cross Fit Moirai, LifePath Med Spa, Zybertech Construction, Level 2 Sportswear Inc, Titan Solutions, Lifepath Psychological Services, Impulse Technologies, Big Kahuna, Pure Chem Services, The Cowboy Cellar, Scentisfied with Sonia, MD Masonary, Calgary Stampeders, Lift Boss and Indus School. Thank you to them and to the many of our beloved football parents that donated items to our silent auction as well. It really does take a village and these businesses helped us raise $4983 and counting at our Pub Night.
On October 4, 2016 you may have met some of our players and parents as our club blitzed Chestermere in an effort to sell Chiefs discount cards. These cards give the purchaser access to many discounts at local businesses. This fundraiser was a complete success including a pizza party for our players prior to going door to door. We are happy to say we met our target!
The dollars from these fundraisers are a welcome infusion of funds for our club and will be put into acquiring and maintaining the equipment we provide to each player; making our players safe and the sport of football affordable.
We thank you Chestermere and surrounding areas for your continued support of youth in our community that want to experience the ultimate team sport of football.

What of the action on the field you may ask? Well it was my intention to provide you with a complete rundown of the last games our Pee Wee and Atom teams played but I realized I am not a very good sports reporter! Why? Because like most parents out there I find myself too busy cheering loud and shouting words of encouragement to our players! I will endeavor to do better in this area but I can’t make any promises! I can promise that I will continue to cheer loud!
