Council approves land purchase option

Altalink’s land purchase option for land located in the Chestermere industrial park was ratified by city council at the Aug. 15 meeting.
Pending the approval of the project by the Alberta Utilities Commission, Altalink will complete the purchase of the land and build a new substation on the property.
The new station is needed to improve the power stability and better handle power outages for the current and future needs of the city.
The site, located in the industrial park in South Chestermere, was chosen after several consultations with stakeholders, including the public.
