Landlord’s inspection uncovers grow op in local home

CHESTERMERE – When a landlord stopped by his rental property in West Lakeview Place on Sunday, Dec. 18 to do a scheduled inspection, he was surprised to find that the locks had been changed on the residence. After determining that no one was home, the landlord called for members of the Chestermere RCMP to be present when gaining entry to the home. Once insides, he discovered numerous marihuana plants in the basement. RCMP discovers seventh grow op of 2011

This residence, located in West Lakeview Circle in Chestermere, was the seventh local residence discovered to contain a grow op in 2011.

CHESTERMERE – On Dec. 6 at around 10 a.m., members of the Chestermere RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence located in the West Lakeview Circle area of Chestermere. Thief apprehended in Chestermere after chase

CHESTERMERE – On Nov. 30 around 1:55 a.m., the Calgary Police Service alerted members of the Chestermere RCMP that a stolen vehicle was being followed out of the city into Chestermere. A short time later, it was relayed to the RCMP that the suspected stolen vehicle, a Chrysler Concord, had crashed into the large rock sign along Rainbow Road near Our Lady of Wisdom School. Traffic stop results in drug seizure

CHESTERMERE – On Nov. 22, 2011 at around 2 a.m., members of the Chestermere RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Range Road 284 near Highway 1. A black 1995 Honda Civic was followed out of Chestermere and pulled over after the license plate information failed to match the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was then determined to have outstanding warrants for his arrest. Incident to his arrest, a small amount of marihuana was located on his person. Cocaine Trafficking Search Warrant Execution

During the evening of September 16, 2011 members of the Chestermere RCMP Detachment assisted a Calgary Police Service targeted enforcement team with a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a Chestermere residence in the area of East Lakeview Court. The Calgary Police Service had been investigating cocaine trafficking at a business in Calgary for an extended period of time. Information obtained through this investigation led to the CDSA search warrant in Chestermere. Smashed Window of a Parked Car on West Chestermere Drive

At around 4:00 a.m. on August 28th, 2011 someone caused significant damage to a vehicle parked at a residence on the 800 block of West Chestermere Drive. Suspect(s) used a rock to break one of the vehicle windows. There appears no motive for this criminal activity other than vandalism. The Chestermere RCMP encourage citizens watch out in their neighborhoods and to report any suspicious activity right away. Residential Break and Enter and Thefts

For the past number of months the Chestermere RCMP Detachment have attended to a number of residential break and enters in Chestermere. Suspect(s) have forced their way into unoccupied homes during day time hours. Points of entry vary and include forcing open back doors, front doors and basement windows. Items such as jewelry, cameras, electronic games, computers and televisions have been stolen. In some cases residential alarms were activated and the culprits fled prior to police attendance. Marihuana Grow Op Search Warrant in Chestermere

During the late morning hours of July 14, 2011 members of the Chestermere RCMP with support from the joint forces Calgary Police Service – RCMP “Green Team South” executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence located in the Parkmere Green area of Chestermere. Construction Work Place Injury

Chestermere, Alberta 2011 June 15 Residential Construction Work Place Injury On June 15, 2011 at approximately 1:20 p.m. a residential construction worker working on a new home in the Aspenmere Close area of Chestermere fell about thirty feet sustaining significant injuries. The construction worker, a 52 year old male from Calgary, was on the second floor of the new house when he fell landing in the basement. Chestermere, Alberta June 7, 2011 Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Collision On the morning of May 30, 2011, at approximately 3:00 am, a hit and run motor vehicle collision occurred on Rainbow Falls Drive in Chestermere, AB. The suspect vehicle side swiped a parked red car on the road and left the scene. The parked red car had the passengers side mirror broken off and drivers side scraped.
