CHESTERMERE– Running is self-explanatory, right? You just strap on some shoes and off you go. But there is actually a little more to it than that — just ask champion triathlete Heather Fuhr.

No, really — you can actually ask her. Fuhr and her husband Roch Frey, also a professional athlete and trainer, will be holding a free running clinic in Chestermere on Aug. 21 courtesy of The SurfSUP, a local paddleboarding business.

• The Anchor Weekly would like to acknowledge SurfSUP owner Kameil Rozumniak for helping rescue a swimmer during the “Tri it Triathalon” on July 17. Rozumniak was on volunteer lifeguard duty when she noticed a struggling swimmer. Using her stand-up paddle board, she moved across the water and pulled the 200-pound man to safety. Chestermere Set To Host Triathlon

CHESTERMERE — After recently getting the green light from town council, the Chestermere Triathlon appears to be off to the races. The multisport event — entailing a swim, bike and run — is set to take place on July 17.
