CHESTERMERE – The sound of bagpipes could be heard echoing out of the Whitecappers Centre on Jan. 31, as the group hosted a special Robbie Burns themed pot luck dinner. The Whitecappers spared no details, as they invited Calgarian Alan Stewart out to act as Master of the Address to the Haggis, and invited an experienced bagpiper to both march in the haggis and perform a few songs. Although the seniors group comes together on the last Tuesday of every month for a pot luck dinner, this was a particularly special gathering, as they came together to bid farewell to [...]

Rag quilts are quilts that have exposed seams on the front, and finished, traditional seams on the back. They are big and cozy and are perfect for using to curl up with on the couch, but the quilts made by these ladies will be going toward a much better cause. Their [...]

The Chestermere Whitecappers Life Begins at 50 Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank a number of people who made our Expo on September 24 a huge success. It was a great honour to have the Chestermere Whitecappers Association’s first President, Jack Shaw and his wife, Goldie attend the Expo. There were also a number of past presidents and board members in attendance who continue to work very hard within the Whitecappers Association. Special thanks go out to the countless volunteers who over the past year took an idea and helped nurture it to fruition. The five members [...]
