On April 19, 2012 during the late afternoon the Chestermere RCMP with assistance from the Calgary Police Service Drug Section and the Alberta along with the Calgary Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit arrested three suspects who were being investigated after a complaint of trafficking of MDMA (ecstasy). The investigation began on April 15, 2012 with a complaint of a Calgary youth requiring short term hospitalization after consuming a form of ecstasy purchased from a Chestermere youth in Chestermere. CHESTERMERE – On Sunday Jan. 29, 2012 at 2:37 a.m., the Chestermere RCMP were dispatched to an alarm at the Chestermere Sobey’s Liquor Store. Upon arrival, police discovered that the front of the building was extensively damaged, as someone had attempted to break into the store using a vehicle as a ram. Access was not gained. Surveillance video later confirmed that a truck was forcibly backed into the store front several times near the store’s entrance. Staff Sgt. CHESTERMERE – On Nov. 30 around 1:55 a.m., the Calgary Police Service alerted members of the Chestermere RCMP that a stolen vehicle was being followed out of the city into Chestermere. A short time later, it was relayed to the RCMP that the suspected stolen vehicle, a Chrysler Concord, had crashed into the large rock sign along Rainbow Road near Our Lady of Wisdom School. CHESTERMERE – On Nov. 22, 2011 at around 2 a.m., members of the Chestermere RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Range Road 284 near Highway 1. A black 1995 Honda Civic was followed out of Chestermere and pulled over after the license plate information failed to match the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was then determined to have outstanding warrants for his arrest. Incident to his arrest, a small amount of marihuana was located on his person. CHESTERMERE – After the alarm blared all afternoon on Saturday and into the morning on Sunday at a Marina Drive townhouse, the Chestermere RCMP were called to check up on the residence. Members of the Chestermere RCMP entered the home around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, Sept 11, and while inside they discovered the grow operation. A search warrant was requested, granted and executed that afternoon with the assistance of the Green Team South Section.
