Ducks Unlimited banquet celebrates 10th anniversary

CHESTERMERE – The local Ducks Unlimited chapter hosted yet another successful fundraiser this past Saturday, as around 150 people turned out to the annual dinner and auction. Attendees enjoyed a catered dinner along with complimentary wine donated by Corrinne Watson. There were also various raffles and games to participate in, in addition to the silent and live auctions. There were over 100 items to bid on in the silent auction, including jewelry, art prints, decorative items and Ducks Unlimited merchandise. The live auction, hosted by auctioneer Cody Hayes, saw various vacation packages, sculptures and other prizes go up for bid. [...]

CHESTERMERE – A fundraiser that has been taking place in Chestermere for a decade will return once again this Feb. 11, and tickets are still available. The banquet is organized yearly by the Chestermere chapter to raise funds for Ducks Unlimited, with the money providing the funding needed to fuel environmental projects such as wetland protection initiatives and other conservation efforts in the area and across the province. Birth forest planting to celebrate babies of 2011

CHESTERMERE – Last September, eleven sets of parents, along with their newest additions in tow, gathered together at one of the small parks along West Chestermere Drive to plant a tree. They did so in honor of their newborn babies, who will always have a tree in Chestermere with their name tagged on it.
