PANDIAK, Joseph

Pandiak-Joseph

Joseph Pandiak, born on March 5th, 1950 in Drumheller, Alberta, passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 23, 2018. Joseph is predeceased by his father Gregor (Harry) Pandiak and his son David Pandiak. Joe is survived by his partner Debra Barker, mother Mary Pandiak, son Christopher Pandiak (Heather), brother Terry Pandiak (Brenda), niece Nicole, nephew Michael and grand-daughter Amanda-Marie.

Joe grew up in Drumheller and Calgary. He practiced as an electrical engineer and project manager, working his way up to Vice President of Transmission for Valard Construction, where he’d been employed since 2004. His 40+ year career started at Northern Canada Power Commission in 1973, included 26 years at TransAlta and a few years at SNL Lavalin before joining Valard. Geographically, there isn’t a province or territory in Canada that Joe hasn’t worked in, contributing significantly to needed infrastructure in each case/locale. Joe is remembered as a mentor and a friend, with a profound work ethic, always taking time to listen. Joe went the extra mile to ensure that he projected the upmost in professionalism and integrity. His presence, influence and quick smile will be missed.

A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, (Prairie View Chapel, 1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with internment and reception to follow. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Valard Construction for their gracious support at this difficult time. Joe’s family has asked, in lieu of flowers, for donations to Make A Wish Foundation of Southern Alberta, 2308 – 24 Street SW, Calgary, AB T2T 5H8 (www.makeawish.ca).
