It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Lauren Cleary Ward on May 20, 2016.
Lauren was born in Calgary on May 6, 1996. She was the cherished daughter of Lori and Ian (Shauna) and sister of Mitchell. Lauren is lovingly remembered by grandparents Jim and Ruth Hunt, and was predeceased by Gordon and Marion Ward. She will be missed forever by her family and many, many friends.
Lauren attended St. Martha Elementary and Father Lacombe Schools in Calgary, Alberta. For the last two years she studied at Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario. She was looking forward to graduating next year.
She was known for her vibrant personality, sense of humour and beautiful smile. Lauren loved her family and friends and adored children and pets. She loved life.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary). A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Later this summer, a Celebration of Lauren’s Life will be held at the home of Ian and Shauna Ward in Courtice, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, Lauren would be happy to have you support the Calgary Humane Society (SPCA) (4455-110 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2C 2T7) or the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation (2888 Shaganappi Trail NW, Calgary, AB T3B 6A8).
