Brian Donald Wood, beloved husband of Holly, passed away peacefully at the age of 64 years surrounded by his family.
He was the loving father of Theresa (Josh), Trevor (Candace) and grandfather to Darien & Rilynn Wood. He will also be missed by his mother Joan, sisters Sharon (Ken) and Debbie (Dave) and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brian was involved in and participated in many organizations and communities throughout his life; Calgary Little League, Boy Scouts, Men’s Fastball, Mac’s Major Midget Hockey Tournament, Calgary Minor Hockey, APRH Community Association, Chestermere Community Association, Chestermere Fire Dept., Chestermere Whitecappers, Ducks Unlimited, Alberta 55 plus Big Country Senior Sports Society, Chestermere Seniors’ Week Committee, Lakeside Golf Club, Pickleball and community Santa Claus, just to name a few. Brian was a structural draftsperson for most of his career, but recently was a school bus driver with First Student for both the Public and Catholic School Boards and Chestermere High School. As a community builder, he volunteered his time organizing sporting events, advocating for Seniors, and transporting school teams and bands to competitions and events. Brian’s heart was as big as he was!
A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held on Friday, February 23rd, at 4:30pm at Lakeside Golf Club
