The most important part of your golf swing

This week we are going to feature and talk about one of THE most important technical positions going on in the golf swing. We are talking about your finish position. Ending up facing the target and up on your right toe (for right handers). I often here complaints about hitting shots off line and when examining the execution I see a lack of lower body or leg control. The legs are a source of power but perhaps even more importantly they provide accuracy.

If you are not using your legs chances are you are constantly leaving balls out to the right. To compensate, we start to over rotate or snap the wrists to make up for that right shot and end up pulling or hooking it. Swing from the mid section or hip to coordinate lower and upper body to get the most out of your swing…and ALWAYS finish up on your trailing foot facing the target. Next time you are on the range hold your finish until the ball lands then take a look to see if you are up on your toe facing the target. Swing like my friend Daryl in the photo and you will be more consistent, straighter, hit with more power and be on your way to playing…YOUR best golf!
