CRCA Slo-Pitch league wraps up season

Country fair tourney decides winners

CHESTERMERE – Another year has been knocked out of the park as the CRCA’S Chestermere Slo-Pitch league wound up its season on Aug 21.
There were 24 teams out this year for the season that ran from April through till August. Games were held on Monday (C Division), Tuesday (B Division), and Wednesday nights (A Division) at the Chestermere Recreation Centre.
League winners and runner ups were: Happy Campers and Alpha Q (A Division), Hi Balls and Generation Gap (B Division), 2 Inch Cleats and Mad Batters (C Division).
Male and Female League MVP’s as voted by the players were Kyle S for Lyalta Lasers and Erin from Zero Tolerance (A Division), PJ Ward from Soft Balls Tight Mitts and Sabrina from Soft Balls Tight Mitts (B Division), Chris from We’ve Got the Runs and Andrea from Young Guns and Jenny Collins from Sluggers and Chuggers (C Division).
Playoff champions and runner-ups were: Happy Campers and Lyalta Lasers (A Division), Generation Gap and Hi Balls (B Division), and Mad Batters and 2 Inch Cleats (C Division).
All the grounders, pop-flies, home runs, double plays, and strike-outs came to an end this weekend at the Chestermere Country Fair tournament. The Brewsers defeated the Lyalta Lasers in the A Pool, with KaBlam defeating the HiBalls in the B Pool, and the Soft Balls and Hot Mitts defeating the Beer Nuts for first place in the C Pool.
