CRCA to host Winter Wonderland Christmas Party

Holiday event will provide festivities for local businesses and groups

CHESTERMERE – The CRCA is hosting the first ever Winter Wonderland Christmas Party next month. However, this isn’t the typical community Christmas party.

Instead, the Winter Wonderland event will be a “communal company Christmas party” of sorts, as it is geared toward local business, services, organizations, teams and clubs who might want to get together to celebrate the holidays in Chestermere.

CRCA program coordinator Vicki Klinger said that the event is also open to families, neighbours, and anyone else who might want to get together locally.

“It’s basically an opportunity for smaller businesses to have their Christmas party right here, rather than having something at their home or finding somewhere to go in the city,” she said. “We’re just trying to keep it local.”

Klinger said that it also gives people a chance to have a memorable holiday event without the hassle of the planning or the cleanup.

Tickets for the event can be purchased for $50 each, or for $350 for a table of eight. There were 320 tickets available to start, and Klinger said that she has had a good response so far. She said that she hopes it will turn into an annual event.

The Winter Wonderland Christmas Party will take place in the main hall at the recreation centre on Dec. 10. There will be a cash bar from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., a roast beef buffet dinner catered by Distinctive Catering from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and live entertainment with local group Gypsy and the Rose from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
D&K Shuttle from Langdon will be providing a free shuttle service, available from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

This event is not open to minors.
