CHESTERMERE – The Chestermere Men’s Bonspiel, hosted by the Chestermere Curling Club, was held from Nov. 15 to 20 at the recreation centre.
There were 21 teams entered, which longtime member Marla Forth said “made for a challenging draw, but our draw coordinator mastered it quite handily.”
This was the second year that the Curling Club held the Men’s Bonspiel in the month of November instead of February.
“Each year we have had an increase in participation and the men’s teams who entered expressed their interest in the club continuing to hold the Men’s Spiel in November,” Forth said.
Registrations are ongoing for the club’s upcoming bonspiels in their 25th Anniversary Season of Curling in the community.
The Mixed Bonspiel, which is joint with the Indus club, is being held January 17 to 22, 2012. Anyone interested in entering a team can contact Wolfgang at 403-285-9753 to register.
The Ladies Bonspiel will be held from March 1 to 4, 2012. Anyone looking to register for that bonspiel can contact Sharon at 403-569-9753.
Registrations for all bonspiels can also be filled out on the club’s website at www.chestermerecurling.com.
