Canmore is home to Raider’s defenseman, Kirsten Howard. Kirsten began playing hockey because she wanted to be like her big brother who spent many hours playing hockey. She played boys’ minor hockey with the Canmore Icecats from Atom through Bantam. Kirsten’s first two years of Midget was played at the Banff Hockey Academy and her final midget year now playing for the Highwood Raiders. Welcome! Like a true competitor, her favorite hockey memories are when her team won the division banner three years in a row. That’s quite a record! Kirsten also enjoys competitive soccer and swimming, working out, skating on the ODR and reading. Graduating with the class of 2013, Kirsten’s aspirations are to play university hockey and pursue a career with the RCMP. All the best to you in your future, Kirsten.

The Raiders are preparing for the upcoming Macs tournament. Their first game will be December 26, 11:30 am at Max Bell #2 against the Prince George Cougars. Come on out and cheer the girls on.
