Nesting Loons?

Dear Editor,

A number of years ago in the springtime a friend told me she saw a loon on a pond in Lakeside Greens. I looked up the Common Loon, it migrates through here, but nests most often on a wooded lake. I have now had two sightings of Common Loons on the lake, about a month ago three swam by in the afternoon and the evening of June 11th I got within about a kayak length of one on the lake. The Royal Alberta Museum webpage on birds in Alberta lists it as only probable that they would nest on the grasslands.
Has anyone else seen these birds and does anyone know where they might be nesting?
