Preserve Your Skills

Mark Saturday July 28th on your calendar now! The Chestermere Red Ribbon and Chestermere Country Fair are presenting a FREE full day workshop at the Chestermere Rec Centre to give you a chance to dabble in and learn about traditional creative home skills that are being lost. Bake a pie, make bread, and learn to make jam. Flower arranging, knitting and making a fresh salsa may also be offered. Register for a half or full day, depending on what you would like to learn. Families are welcome, children registering should be 9 years and over. (Little ones, with supervision, can come and watch all but jam making!). Format will be as for events held in 2010 ( Bake it Don’t Fake It) and then in 2011 ( Preserving Your Skills – Sticky Buns and Flower Arranging). Summer is a time for fun, and what better way to enjoy time with friends or your family than by learning a new skill that you can take away to enrich home life. You can hold your spot by contacting Carol at accounting@chestermerecrca.com or calling 403 272 7170 x 223. The Red Ribbon Booklets will be out on May 5th at Country Connections–pick one up and read about the competitions you can enter once you have mastered these skills! See you at the Red Ribbon table at Country Connections!
