Tax increase was 12 years of savings

Re: Education Tax Increase
This increase seems to be the talk of the Town.
What if we look at this in a different way.
We have been receiving this tax benefit since the year 2000. That’s 12 years. Has anyone considered how much they have saved over this period of time?
We now have to pay an extra $400 per year starting this year. This amounts to (400 divided by 365) $1.10 per day. That’s less than the purchase of a half of cup coffee.
