If you have a child who would benefit from some extra help with their schoolwork, then be sure to check out a new Chestermere business called The Tutor Train.

The after school home-based tutoring center is run by husband and wife, Nic and Abi Farhat. The Tutor Train is designed to help students with any assignments they may have, including homework, and covers most subjects.

“We are both certified Alberta Teachers so we can cover the school curriculum quite thoroughly,” says Nic Farhat.

The decision of starting up a tutoring business came to the Farhat’s when they realized that tutors are always in need of, and that the community would benefit from the extra help. Instead of operating like a private tutor would, however, The Tutor Train will not travel to the clients’ homes. Instead, it will be operating out of the Farhat’s residency.

For $25.00 per hour/session, your child can receive this extra guidance. They will have access to Wi-Fi, computer use, reading resources, as well as a healthy snack.

“In most cases we try to work with the local schools schedules and be available for students to come over immediately after school,” Farhat adds.

Developing brains are highly benefited from repetition of newly learned material, so whether you need a tutor for solidifying a new concept or practicing a specific skill, The Tutor Train would be more than happy to help.

The Tutor Train operates from Monday to Thursday at 3:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., and on Fridays at 1:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

For more information, please call The Tutor Train at (587) 538-0500, or email them at tutortrain1@gmail.com
