5th Annual SGA CUPpinkteam

St. Gabriel students were treated to a thrilling Friday full of students who were somewhat new to floor hockey to the serious and skilled. Near 100 students registered to participate in the annual SGA Cup on Friday, May 22nd. As always, the teams did not dissappoint with their creative team uniforms and of course the fun play. Entry for each team player was a donation to the Chestermere Food Bank. In addition, the money raised from the canteen was donated to Earthquake relief for the victims of Nepal. This year provided the spectators with an unforeseen outcome. “The Unforgiven” (teacher team) was knocked out early by the super skilled Brutal Beasts. The high school division was extremely tough, but the grade 11 team, Jagr Bombs found their way to the final against the grade 8/9 team called Cheap Shots 2.0. Much to the shock of many, this young team played their hearts out. In the end, the Cheap Shots 2.0 became the youngest team ever to win the SGA Cup!! Congratulations to all participants as it truly was a great event once again. A huge congratulations goes to Kenny, Tarun, Ethan, Griffin, Justin and Ryan for claiming the 2015 SGA Cup. Well done boys!
