Couple charged with human trafficking

RCMP make arrests in the Hamlet of Conrich

RCMP have laid charges including human trafficking against two people in Conrich Sept. 22.
Strathmore RCMP in conjunction with the force’s federal serious and organized crime unit arrested Mohammed Sayeed Shukur Ubeydullah, 32, and Amandeep Kaur Heer, 29, Sept. 20 at a home in Conrich.
The CBC reported that the pair are facing charges of trafficking in persons, receiving material benefit from trafficking, and withholding or destroying documents related to trafficking.
The accused are scheduled to have their first court appearance Oct. 17 in Strathmore.
