Armchair Travel

Armchair Travel is one of the most wonderful ways to look into our fantastic, vast world and learn as much as our hearts desire. We can travel to some of our favorite places without leaving home.  Through videos, pod casts, books and music and numerous other ways, we can go to places we have never seen, or only ever dreamed of. This way of travelling, is a delightful pastime and is good for the imagination and soul. After all, we are curious individuals and have a thirst for knowledge!

Ready? Let’s take a look at Croatia – situated in South central Europe and Mediterranean region, Croatia shares several borders with its neighbours, Italy and Hungary to name a few.  The climate can be described as temperamental (a bit like Alberta) Winter is long and cold, Spring and Summer are mild. Croatia boasts eight national parks, gorgeous coastlines and beautiful beaches. A great place to visit is Dubrovnik, one of Croatia’s most historical cities, attracting many celebrities. If you get a little peckish, Croatian food is flavoursome and delicious, the food can vary though, depending on which region you are in. From Gnocchi, to Peka (food baked under a lid shaped like a bell, covered in embers consisting of seafood, veggies and meat, to Brudet (fish stew) there is an amazing range of local

delicacies to entice your taste buds. So, what are you waiting for, lets go explore and then enjoy dinner with an evening of Capella choirs, or the theatre.

To prepare for our trip, please follow the steps for a relaxing journey. Step 1 – Pour yourself a cup of tea or your favorite tipple, Step 2- kick off your shoes, Step 3 – pull up a comfy chair.
