Seniors update – support programs

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you, hope you had a relaxing weekend with family, good food and memorable times. We are truly grateful for our Healthcare workers as they navigate this fourth wave.

Health

It has surely been a long healing time with Covid 19, but we are starting to learn to live with it.

There currently 89 active cases in Chestermere.  Most cases requiring hospitalization and in community continue to be with non-vaccinated Albertans. Please remember to choose to vaccinate based on facts. Please see the poster attached on the Myths around Covid.

If you have questions please speak to your Clinic nurse or Family Physician or Nurse Practitioner to get reliable, science-based answers. As we are well into the fourth wave of this pandemic, we must be mindful of our entire community’s wellbeing and prevent the spread.

The drugstores around town offer the vaccine as well as booked through AHS website at Chestermere Health Clinic, or anywhere it is offered in Calgary. With all the new supports for both schools and public places, those that are vaccinated can carry on their lives with reassurance. Please download your vaccination record from albertavaccinerecord.ca and save it to your notes or print a copy for your wallet. This record of your vaccine dates will be reviewed at most public business’, restaurants and for travel.

Armchair Travel

Armchair Travel is one of the most wonderful ways to look into our fantastic, vast world and learn as much as our hearts desire. We can travel to some of our favorite places without leaving home.  Through videos, pod casts, books and music and numerous other ways, we can go to places we have never seen, or only ever dreamed of. This way of travelling, is a delightful pastime and is good for the imagination and soul. After all, we are curious individuals and have a thirst for knowledge!

Ready? Let’s visit one of the most romantic and most visited cities in Europe, Paris. Located in Northern central France, with a population of approximately 2.161 million (2019) Paris is the French capital, of this fascinating country. History, cafes, and boundless leafy streets will keep you entertained, as well as the endless visits to the Boulangeries (bakery) a must for fresh baguettes and croissants, with sweet delights of pastries and macarons to savour. For tourists, the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and the Seine river will leave you wanting more of what this amazing city has to offer.
