On June 13, 2012 at approximately 8:50 p.m. the Chestermere RCMP along with the Chestermere Fire Department and EMS personnel attended to a residence in the West Creek area of Chestermere responding to a dog bite occurrence. It was learned the family dog became aggressive and bit a 11 year old boy above his left eye. The dog, a 7 and half year old mixed breed was restrained in the backyard while the victim received on scene medical treatment. This boy, who lives at the residence, was taken to a Calgary hospital where he received several stitches to treat the cut and then released.
The family dog was taken that evening by the family to a local veterinary clinic where it was euthanized.
