Tickets still available for CRCA Christmas Party

Holiday event will provide festivities for local businesses and groups

CHESTERMERE – The CRCA is hosting the first ever Winter Wonderland Christmas Party next Saturday, Dec. 10, and around 100 tickets are still available for the event.

The Winter Wonderland party is a first for the CRCA, and has been organized as a “communal company Christmas party” of sorts, where employees of local business or members of other services, organizations, teams and clubs can together to celebrate the holidays in Chestermere.

CRCA program coordinator Vicki Klinger said that the event is also open to families, neighbours, and anyone else who might want to get together locally.

“It’s basically an opportunity for smaller businesses and other local groups to have their holiday get together in Chestermere,” she said. “We’re just trying to keep it local, as give people a good venue rather than them having to host something at their home or go somewhere in the city.”

Klinger said that it also gives people a chance to have a memorable holiday event without the hassle of the planning or the cleanup.

“We’ll take care of all that, all you have to do it show up and have a good time,” Klinger said.

Local duo Gypsy and the Rose will be performing at the event, and leading lady Candie Schmidt said that she is looking forward to being a part of the party.

“I have been working closely alongside the CRCA team to organize a quality event to make your celebration memorable, local and easy this year,” she said. “Distinctive Catering is on board once again to provide an amazing meal, the hall will be decorated in the spirit of Christmas, we will be providing live music, there will be party games, and affordable bar service.

“It will all help to make your Christmas merry and bright. We hope you will join us.”

Tickets for the event can be purchased for $50 each, or for $350 for a table of eight.

The Winter Wonderland Christmas Party will take place in the main hall at the recreation centre on Dec. 10. There will be a cash bar from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., a roast beef buffet dinner catered by Distinctive Catering from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and live entertainment  from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
D&K Shuttle from Langdon will be providing a free shuttle service for locals, available from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

This event is not open to minors.
