The Icebreaker regatta, which was held the last week-end of May, is the beginning of an active season at the Yacht Club.

Chestermere prides itself on being a lakeside community, and what better way to enjoy the beautiful setting than by getting involved in the sport of sailing!
You do not need to be a member of the Club to enjoy the many programs that are offered.

There are Adult Learn to Sail lessons, Summer sailing camp for kids in July and August, Learn to race programs for young and old alike, a variety of water safety courses and many social events.

With the new building now up and running it is a wonderful location to watch the activities on the lake, or enjoy the beautiful sunsets from the large deck.

One of the interesting aspects of the sport of sailing is that it encompasses all age levels. Programs start for little ones at age 4, and continue well into adulthood and the senior years. Especially in the area of competitive sailing, all these age groups mix and mingle and compete against each other on a level playing field. This encourages a mix of generations at the Club and the feeling of taking part in a large, extended family!

Friday June 8th is our first Pub Night . Come by for a drink and enjoy the spectacular new facilities. Make the Yacht Club your summer destination!

For information on summer courses and membership, please contact our Club Manager Fie Hulsker at 272-3300 or check out our website at www. cyc.ab.ca
