More Targets for Red Ribbon Trophy Hunt

Five new trophies to be presented at this year's fair

If you were aiming to get your name on a trophy this year at Chestermere’s Country Fair Red Ribbon Competition, well now you have 5 more chances! Thanks to some generous donors we have 5 more trophies for you to set your sights on. 1.) The Baking Award, 2.) The Jam, Jelly & Preserve Award, 3.) The Handicraft Award, 4.) The Pickles, Sauces, Eggs & Honey Award, and 5.) The Photography Award. Don’t forget the original trophies are still in the hunt as well…The Vegetable Award, The Flower Award, The Wine Award, The Beer Award and the coveted Grand Aggregate Trophy!
You might like to know how these trophies are awarded. Each of these named trophies above are listed as a SECTION in the Red Ribbon competition, each SECTION has many different categories under them which are actually called the CLASS. Any individual person entering items in the fair is only allowed to enter one item in each CLASS but if you are handy, you could enter many different items in each SECTION.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place Ribbons are awarded at the fair for each CLASS and points are attached to each as follows…1st place = 3 points, 2nd place = 2 points and 3rd place = 1 point. Ultimately the trophy winner is the individual who has won the most points in that SECTION.
The Grand Aggregate trophy is the only trophy that is based on a family total. So this trophy is awarded to the family with the most points won in all SECTIONS totaled. A family consists of Immediate family members only.
Also NEW this year to the Red Ribbon Competition will be the Presentation of a Certificate to the School with the most points from winning entries in the Child and Youth SECTION of the Fair!
Don’t forget that the Yacht Club has yet again donated two individual certificates entitling the winners a “One Week Summer Sailing Camp”. These two certificates will be awarded to the Two Children who have the most points from the Child and Youth SECTION in this year’s Red Ribbon Competition.
The Chestermere Agricultural Society would like to say Thank-You to the following for their generous donation of the 5 NEW Trophies for the 2012 Red Ribbon Competition! Grannie Jen Peddlesden, Lorine & Emanuel Fasoli, Sharon & Nick Woronuk, Pat & Peter Tindall, and Ron & Marla Forth.
Don’t forget that you can drop into the CRCA office anytime, to pick up your Red Ribbon competition Entry Tags and an Entry Form to speed up your drop off of your Entries for Friday September 7th between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm!
See you at the Fair
