Once again, St. Gabriel the Archangel hosted his third annual SGA Cup. This year proved to be even bigger and better with 10 teams registered from grades 7-12. This year the students put a ton of effort and energy into not only their floor hockey skills, but their team uniforms. Teams such as St. Gabe’s Babes & Luke, #Dusted, and Da Bung Bungs were all teams who had a very creative uniform. Entry to this fun event was make a food donation to the Chestermere Food Bank. The tournament ran for approximately three hours until the last game was played. In the semi-finals were the following teams: Da Bung Bungs, The Faze Trackers, St. Gabe’s Babe’s & Luke, and The Tall Boys. Finally, the final match was decided and it ended up being the teacher team (Tall Boys) vs. Da Bung Bungs. Da Bung Bungs fought hard, but unfortunately gave up a few goals against the teacher team, thus the Teacher Team (with a combined age of over 350) won the 2013 tournament. Special thanks to all 64 students, 18 teachers who participated, along with the awesome students and parents who came as fans to cheer on the teams. We are certainly looking forward to this competition in 2014. BE READY
