Power Outage Resulting From a Hit and Run Collision

At approximately midnight on January 9, 2013 the electrical power supply was disrupted to the majority of residences and businesses on the east side of Chestermere. The power disruption lasted for approximately three hours. It was soon determined there was a motor vehicle collision to a fence and a power pole at a residence near the intersection of East Chestermere Drive and Merganser Drive East which was the cause of the power outage. The vehicle involved in the collision, although likely heavily damaged, was driven away from the scene prior to the police attendance.

Chestermere RCMP are seeking the assistance of the public to identify the vehicle and driver of this collision. It is believed the involved vehicle will have front end damage.
