Birth Forests – two of the birth forests that have been planted in the past two years.

Every year, the Streetscape Committee plants trees in September to recognize those children born to families living within the Town of Chestermere.
The birth forest planting will be Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 on National Tree Day at 6:30 PM. This year our Birth Forest Trees will be planted in the green space at 623 Cavendish Beach Bay (corner of West Chestermere Drive and Cavendish Beach Bay).
If you wish to participate in the 2014 Birth Forest Tree planting, please fill out an application form and submit to the town office with your $40 per child payment. http://www.chestermere.ca/DocumentCenter/View/1166
The deadline for applications was Tuesday, September 2, 2014.
The Committee will contact you via email with the specific information as we get closer to the planting date in 2014.
There is no better way to help save the environment than by planting a tree. You can do your part by honoring your child with a tree in our 2014 Birth Forest.’

If you happen to be walking on the pathway that runs alongside the lake past the library you might see two stands of trees at one of the forks in the pathway. These stands of trees are birth forests that were planted in the past two years. If you are curious you can go right up to these trees and search for the tags attached to each tree with the name of the child that the tree was planted for. We have included some photos of the birth forests so that you can identify them on your walk.
It is a sweet, charming, eco-friendly way to remember the birth of your child. And, if you are exceptionally sentimental you can take your child to the same tree every year and take a picture with it. You can look back through the years and marvel at how both child and tree have grown and prospered.
