On June 14 the Canadian Oilfield Rider’s (COR) Association held the 26th Anniversary motorcycle ride in support of the Children’s Wish foundation – which brought out over 175 participants on 140 motorcycles to Chestermere.

According to Tim MacTavish, President of COR, the association was founded in 1988 by Larry Pedersen and over the last 26 years they have donated over $750,000.00 to the Children’s Wish Foundation.

This year, COR was able to present Kyla Martin, a representative of the Children’s Wish Foundation with a cheque for $22,000. MacTavish explains that part of the fundraising activities included a pledge sheet campaign for riders prior to the event, as well donations were being accepted at the breakfast.

The weekend festivities kicked-off in Chestermere with registration and  delicious pancake breakfast at John Peake Park, followed by a scenic ride that took riders from the prairies to the badlands near Wayne, Alberta.  At Wayne, participants were able to enjoy motorcycle rodeo events and other games, a show and shine, steak BBQ, live music up and great fellowship.

“Canadian Oilfield Riders are the longest continuous supporter of the Children’s Wish Foundation – a legacy we hope to continue for many years to come!” exclaims MacTavish.

The Children’s Wish Foundation is a uniquely Canadian charity that helps Canadian children, families and communities by granting the favourite wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
