Marijuana Seizure

On January 25th, a Strathmore RCMP member conducted a traffic stop on Highway 1 just outside Calgary City Limits. The member made observations that quickly turned the traffic stop into a drug investigation, and the male driver of the vehicle was subsequently arrested under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. A search of the vehicle after the man’s arrest turned up over 4.8 kilograms of marijuana in the trunk. The 59 year old male from Calgary will be charged for possession for the purpose of trafficking, and is due in Strathmore Provincial Court on March 7th.
