Partiers kicking up their heels at Oktoberfest 2014

If you were around the Chestermere Regional Rec Centre on the evening of October 18th, 2014, you likely would have thought you’d traveled to another land….the land of sauerkraut, weisswurst and beer.
The German culture was truly celebrated as the Brabec Brothers Oktoberfest Band kept the crowd entertained while authentic German food was provided by Illichmann’s Deli. Beer and other refreshments graciously served by the hosts of the evening, the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) members.
The CWL is known for doing amazing things in the community and across the globe. They have collected and delivered socks for the Mustard Seed and have purchased a sink and a chimney for a school in Africa. The group has not yet decided where to allocate the funds raised from the Oktoberfest bash, but this very generous group is sure to continue on with their fundraising initiatives.
The CWL wanted to say a special thank you to the sponsors, volunteers and especially Mountain View Funeral Home for being on hand to take partiers back home safely by donating limo rides at the end of the night.
