Doing their part to keep our community clean & beautiful

There’s the old saying that you should always leave a place better than you found it and on Friday June 19th, that is exactly what the folks from Mattamy Homes were doing.
Mattamy Homes has been a part of the Chestermere housing boom since they opened up Lakepointe in 2012 and sold out earlier this year. They are completing construction on their last remaining homes this summer and the last homeowner will take possession this fall.
On Friday June 19th, staff of Mattamy Homes could be found cleaning up around the lake, pond and up and down the streets in Lakepointe. Working in teams, they were checking through the grassy areas, the construction sites and even going so far as to take to the water by way of canoe and rubber dingy to ensure a thorough clean-up was done.
Warren Saunders, Vice President, Sales & Marketing with Mattamy Homes explained, “The cleanup was part of our Division wide initiative. We had all of our staff participating in all four of our Mattamy communities in preparation for YYC Neighbor Day on June 20th”. Mattamy had 120 staff assigned to four communities between Chestermere, Calgary and Airdrie.
Mattamy Homes is one of the largest privately owned builders in North America and is Canada’s largest new home builder, with operations across Canada and the United States. From a humble beginning in 1978, starting with the building and sale of a single home in Burlington, Ontario, Mattamy has gone on to build more than 60,000 homes in hundreds of communities . In Canada, those communities stretch across the Greater Toronto Area, as well as in Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton, while in the United States, the company is represented in seven metropolitan areas: Minneapolis-St. Paul, Charlotte, Phoenix, Tucson, Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa-Sarasota.
With stating that their company values are commitment, teamwork and community – that definitely showed during their community clean up.
Saunders went on to say, “Community involvement and leadership is one of our core values. We are committed to making a positive impact in all of our communities. Our community involvement is all about having an impact, not merely playing a role. And it refers to all communities – whether they are neighbourhoods, cities or professional bodies”.
Thank you Mattamy Homes for helping us keep Chestermere clean and beautiful!
