In the spirit of community, students from Prairie Waters Elementary and Chestermere High School teamed up recently to produce a garden box project.

Students from Mr. Andrew Autet’s construction class at Chestermere High built and installed five garden boxes at Prairie Waters, which are now starting to be used by elementary students to grow a vegetable garden. High school students spent three days at Prairie Waters, to map out the area, dig up the soil and build the boxes right on site. We would like to say a big thank you to Garden Scents Garden Centre who supplied the soil, extra tools and garden shovels to help the Prairie Waters’ students have a successful growing season.

Prairie Waters students were able to watch and ask questions while the boxes were being built, and planted vegetables once they were complete. They now look forward to seeing the fruits of their labour in the fall!
