St. Gabriel Science Students Earn Silver Medal

The SGA Science Plus team earned a silver medal in one of the four events at the 2015 APEGA Science Olympics on February 21, 2015. There were 25 teams entered in the competition, from schools in and around Calgary. Our most successful challenge event was the marshmallow missiles competition. Students had to build a device that they could use to propel mini marshmallows across the room into a target area. In addition, our team worked together to build a cantilevered crane out of recycled materials, capable of moving loads to and from various locations, all the while being blindfolded! Congratulations to our Science Olympians for representing St. Gabriel so well. Team members were Nick Christy, Jack Christy, Nolan Wick and Josh Ubalde.
