Buy some Lemonade and change the world!

Chestermere's 1st Lemonade Day is June 11!

Chestermere is about to get a lot sweeter with the City’s first Lemonade Day coming up this weekend! On Saturday, June 11, youth ages 6-17 will be running their own lemonade stands all around the City between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and are eager for your business.

“As one of only four host communities in Canada, we are so excited to participate in our very first Lemonade Day event,” said David Petrovich, Economic Development Officer at the City of Chestermere and Lemonade Day organizer. “The kids have put a lot of work into this program, and we hope everyone comes out to support them on June 11.”
In addition to being a fun summer event, Lemonade Day is a strategic youth entrepreneurship program. Over the last few months, the kids completed a workbook and attended a mentorship program that empowered them to turn an idea into a business plan.
Participants were expected to find sources for their small startup loan, negotiate rent for their space, come up with ideas for making their stand unique, think about ways to market their business, obtain a business license, and consider how they can give back to the community. In many communities that have hosted Lemonade Day, the kids have used their profits not only for themselves but to donate to charities or special causes.
On June 11, their hard work will come to fruition when their stands open up come rain or shine. Residents and visitors are encouraged to support as many lemonade stands as possible to appreciate the creativity and strategies of the young business owners.
