Christmas cheer to fill fieldhouse

Annual Christmas Carnival helping to spread Christmas spirit in Langdon

Santa will be dropping by the Langdon Field house Dec. 3 for the fifth annual Christmas Carnival.
“It’s a nice way to start off the month of December with some small town charm and our friends,” said event organizer Jessica Smythe.
The carnival is meant to bring the community together before Christmas to relax and have fun before all of the holiday stress and chaos really begins.
Organizers are hoping for a good turn out this and great weather.
The carnival will include a Christmas market selling a variety of handmade items.
Children will have a chance to get their picture taken with Santa with a donation to the Langdon Community Association (LCA). There will also be a gingerbread house contest for kids, wagon or sleigh rides, coffee, a food truck, skating (weather permitting) and a Christmas tree lighting with carolers.
The LCA will also be screening a family Christmas movie the next day, Dec. 4, at the fieldhouse.
Of all the activities, Smythe said the market is often the most popular.
“It’s a great way to get some Christmas shopping done with unique gifts that support our local artisans,” said Smythe.
However, what Smythe is looking forward to is the Christmas Tree light up.
“We recently had a 16ft Colorado Blue Spruce planted by Jubilee Landscaping and I think it will be so much fun to light it for the first time with some of the town watching and caroling with some of our local Langdon School students,” she said.
The event organizers are grateful to Double Tree Farms, our local artisans, Lindsay Gagnon, Keepa Koffee Rollin, Langdon School students and all of our volunteers for the help they have provided in bringing the event together.
