Construction to start on East Township Road 240 bridge

Construction of a new bridge on Township Road 240 East of Chestermere Lake has been approved by city Council at the meeting Oct. 3.
Work is slated to start early in 2017 and finish by the late spring.
The project comes in advance of development of light industrial business to the South of the lake.
“This will help us improve travel on that road and plan for the future when heavier trucks are accessing the commercial areas to the south of the lake,” said Mayor Patricia Matthews.
A public open house will be held October 19th to provide more information to city residents.
“There will be delays in accessing that road while the bridge is being built but we intend to post that information on our website and notify people so they can make alternate arrangements when needed,” said Matthews.
