Focus on Facility Funders: ReidBuilt Homes

ReidBuilt Centre for Community Leadership

In addition to ReidBuilt Homes donating $12,500 toward the completion of the Centre for Community Leadership, they have committed to contributing materials and labour to build the decks, pergola and planter boxes as well as designing, constructing and installing two signs. In honour of this sizeable sponsorship, ReidBuilt Homes has been awarded the naming rights for this new community facility for a period of three years.
Dave Abbey, ReidBuilt Homes General Sales and Marketing Manager, stated that ReidBuilt Homes want to support Synergy with the new community centre because the programs that Synergy provides are close to their hearts. When ReidBuilt Homes makes decisions on how to distribute sponsorship money they look for causes that affect the employees of ReidBuilt, their customers and the communities that support them. Synergy’s new community centre happened to fit all the criteria representing their staff that live in Chestermere and their thousands of customers based in Chestermere. For these reasons, ReidBuilt Homes felt that they owed it to the community to help bring such needed social infrastructure to fruition. ReidBuilt Homes challenges other local businesses to get out and do the same thing, and to most importantly find ways to invest back into your community.
ReidBuilt Homes is not only proud to support this cause in a monetary way but see this as a great opportunity to get involved. Abbey is excited for the chance to provide hands-on mentorship to youth that may want to help them in the construction on site of structures such as the deck and pergola. If he can find 2-3 dozen youth that pick up a hammer and find a passion to become a skilled tradesmen, it would make the efforts of ReidBuilt Homes very worthwhile. These youth could possibly have the opportunity to one day work or even manage with ReidBuilt Homes. Abbey strongly believes that the children are our future and creating strong leaders through mentorship could very well empower them to be future employers.
As a youth Abbey said he was an unruly until he became a member of a cadet program which taught him self-worth and gave him responsibility and as a result turned him into the man he is proud to be today, with a strong work ethic. Teaching youth the concept of self-worth is important to Abbey, because in today’s day and age you don’t see as many youth enrolled in programs like cadet’s or scouts. Synergy provides these important programs that empower youth from ages 6-17+ through their YELL, SHOUT and Creative Kids youth groups. The ReidBuilt Centre for Community Leadership will be a hub for youth to gather and grow into confident leaders, with a strong sense of self-worth and will help to get youth out there to meet other like-minded individuals to share their growing experiences with.
“ReidBuilt Homes is so proud to team up with such a great community initiative. It truly does take a village and ReidBuilt Homes wants to do our part in helping to mold today’s youth into tomorrow’s leaders. ReidBuilt Homes, Reid-defining Community” said Dave Abbey, ReidBuilt Homes General Sales and Marketing Manager.
Featuring 2280 square feet of operating space including meeting room and program space, the ReidBuilt Centre for Community Leadership is to be utilized exclusively by Not for Profit organizations and the Community Organizations who partner with them. Other Not for Profit organizations are invited to explore the option to share space at the Centre with the expectation that these organizations will contribute to the operating costs associated with the new community facility.
Synergy is very grateful to ReidBuilt Homes and their significant contributions which will enable them to better serve the community and allow for more opportunities to collaborate with other community organizations.
