Out and About with The Historical Foundation

CHF Tour

CHF Tour

The Chestermere Historical Foundation has planned for this year’s June event, a trip to the Nose Creek Valley Museum, on Tuesday June 14th, 2016. Lunch will follow at a local restaurant. Others are welcome to join members on this outing. We encourage those who are not members to step up and buy at a good old fashioned price, a one year membership in CHF for only $5.
Following the visit to the museum and lunch there will be a visit to ‘Where on Earth did you get that?’ antique store. To join in, meet at the museum 701 Main St S, Airdrie at 10am. If you need a ride please call Jen 403 200 8046 or email from the webpage www.chestermerehistory.org.
The next event planned is during Senior’s Week, June 6-12th. CHF is partnering to provide a live dialogue on the history of Chestermere and its environs by three CHF members on the launch ( pontoon boat) trips planned as part of the events on Monday June 6th the first day of a full week of, workshops, seminars, and entertainment. The trips will leave from Camp Chestermere at 1pm and again at 2:45pm. Ray Blanchard, Paul Waite and I will provide interesting historical facts on the sights we will see, local wildlife, and some of the important places in Chestermere’s history that are right along or visible from the water. Let’s hope that the weather cooperates! These trips will be a first, and we hope not the last of this type of historical boat tour of the lake. For more general information on Senior’s Week you can contact Katelyn at Chestermere Community Services and for information on the CHF partnership in the launch trips see more on the webpage under What’s Happening.
