Councillor Jennifer Massig not seeking re-election

No members of sitting City Council running in this year's election

One-term City of Chestermere Councillor Jennifer Massig has made the decision to not seek re-election.
“There is nothing I have ever been involved in that has been so rewarding and so challenging,” she said of her time on city council.
While proud of the achievements she and the other member of council have made in the last four years, Massig has decided to focus her energies elsewhere in the future.
“I am proud of the incredible accomplishments that we were able to move forward in this last four years,” said Massig.
Although she has decided to step away from city council, Massig plans to stay involved in the community.
“There are a number of fantastic, hardworking committees and volunteer opportunities that are a real guiding force in this City and they are always looking for dedicated people to help out and lend a hand and I have two hands to give,” she said.
With her announcement, there are officially no incumbent members of city council running for re-election.
There are five candidates running for mayor and fifteen candidates running for council.
