Local MLA releases statement on International Women’s Day

Chestermere-Rocky View MLA and Wilderose Shadow Minister for the Status of Women Leela Aheer recognized the Achievements of women in Alberta and around the world on International Women’s Day March 8.
“We have so much to be proud of in the move for true women’s equality – but we also have so far to go,” she said.
The theme this year is #BeBoldForChange which Aheer said calls everyone to work for change for the empowerment of women.
She said that this action is manifested by giving women “a seat at the table,” and ensuring that they are treated equally.
“To all the women in Alberta, young and old, and regardless of race or creed, I thank you for all that you do as pillars of your communities.
“It doesn’t go unnoticed,” she said.
