Music Festival Planning nearing completion

Tickets slated to go on sale mid-May

Organizers of Chestermere’s newest summer festival are almost finished planning the July 21 event.
“We are 99% complete,” said organizer Alex Halat.
The festival will be an adult only country music festival.
“We went with an upbeat country concert, looking for that feel good small town country theme,” he said, “we want everyone to leave and say they had a great time.”
They have five country artists signed to perform at the concert but still have to finish all of the contracts and legal documents before they can announce any names.
“Just waiting on a couple media issues before we can announce the lineup,” said Halat.
While they are still working out the last of the details, Halat said that overall the planning has gone how he expected it too.
“Being it was our first time we had a few challenges,” he said.
Both the city and the CRCA have been great to work with said Halat. The help he and support from those organizations has stream lined the process and allowed the organizers to get to the point they are at.
Additionally, the community has shown a lot of interest and support for the festival.
“We honestly haven’t had any issues as we have been doing everything to accommodate every concern brought up,” said Halat.
Their goal this year is to host a successful event that can grow in future years.
“We are looking forward to making this a memorable event,” he said, “hopefully in the coming years we can build this up to a 3 day event.”
Organizers are hoping to have tickets on sale for the festival early in May.
“We have been able to keep ticket prices as low as $30.00 for early bird to really encourage folks to attend,” said Halat.
