The 2016 27th Annual Chestermere Ag Society Red Ribbon Competition was an amazing success, and so was the Pie Auction held to support STARS. Thanks to many pie makers, and pie buyers, the Chestermere Ag Society Red Ribbon turned over a cheque for $2320. The Red Ribbon will do that again in 2017 –and top that amount. So far, since its inception in 2011, the Red Ribbon Old Fashioned Pie Auction has earned $10 510 for STARS and $955 for the Chestermere Food Bank. Watch for posters advertising YOUR chance to make a pie September 6th and help STARS at the Country Fair Red Ribbon on Saturday September 9th 2017. On March 23rd a crew of new and excited volunteers attended the first 2017 Red Ribbon Competition meeting (upper photo) to celebrate this gift to STARS and start organizing the 2017 event. It was encouraging to see the newcomers who have been caught by the excitement of the Red Ribbon and its old fashioned country fun.
